2018 FFN Golden Tour Camille Muffat – Sarcelles, Paris

Ryan McCoy (14) travelled with Head Coach Rick Hall as part of the Middlesex County Team selected to compete at his first International Meet. Ryan was selected based on his ranking within the county and had the opportunity to swim against international swim stars like Pernille Blume, Jeremy Stravius, Marco Koch, Jazmin Carlin and Siobhan Marie O’Connor, compete at the meet. Ryan competed in the 50, 100 and 200 Butterfly. Our Ryan smashed his PB with 28.0 in the 50 Butterfly, got 5th place in the open C final in the 200 fly, and also swam in the 100 fly.

Head Coach Rick, who was on the trip with Ryan said after the meet, "the County take a team away every 2 years to give swimmers an opportunity to race outside of the UK and race different athletes. It gave Ryan a fantastic opportunity to sample what it is like to travel with a team and race against some world class athletes. Looking forward, I hope this inspires more Hackney swimmers to want to get to this level."

Basildon & Phoenix Regional Qualifier

38 swimmers competed at the Basildon Sporting village 25m pool.

One of the referees from Basildon remarked how well behaved and polite the Hackney Aquatics swimmers have been; well done swimmers our reputation is very important.

We achieved 98 top ten finishes but including the medal winners there were 155 top ten finishes from 38 swimmers.
