Swimmer of the Month May 2018

Well done to all our Swimmer of the Month winners 2018

Performance Pathway– Kai Ogden (Perf Youth)

Kai has always had a superb attitude but throughout May he has stepped it up another gear. As well as doing his normal training, Kai goes above and beyond and does extra training at home, always completes his full pre pool routine, has clear, specific goals and works on his weakest areas in the pool. In May, Kai swam at both the Regional Champs and London Open. Through his hard work he achieved huge PBS, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals at the Regional Champs and qualified for the National Championships (British – 200 IM and English – 200 Back, 400IM).

Competition Pathway – Ruan O'Toole (Comp Youth) - Petchey Award Winner

Ruan has been training with a renewed fervor following the London Regional Champs, identifying areas of opportunity in his races and working studiously to improve them. He has been a stalwart of Competition Youth in the month of May thanks to his great work ethic.

Comp Development – Dylan Jackson

Dylan boasts a great attendance, enthusiasm and has even developed as a leader in the group. We hope this continues in the coming month and the rewards will come in the end of season meets

Skill Development – Daisy Hills (Skill Dev 2)

Daisy has outstanding determination and a relentless hard work ethic. Daisy consistently demonstrates drive and focus in every training session focusing on her technique and skills – something her coach Naomi says makes her a joy to coach.

Club Pathway – Poppy Norton (Junior 2)

Despite having had a lot of exams over the past couple of weeks Poppy has been resilient with her revision timetable and swimming sessions. Poppy comes to training on time and with a positive attitude towards every session. Poppy is the first to ask me to clarify the set if she does not understand it, which helps others speak up if they are in a similar position. Poppy's attitude is what we expect from our swimmers.

Academy - Sara Harrar (Recently moved up to Skill Dev)

Sarah has recently moved from our Academy into the competitive squads. Sarah's attendance is fantastic as well as her willingness to learn and apply new skills - which is quickly evident in her swimming. She is always a pleasure to catch and deserves to be our swimmer of the month.
