Masters
Our HAC Masters are a diverse group of competent swimmers ranging from ages 18 to 70 and beyond.
We have nine training sessions a week, mornings and evenings, at Clissold Leisure Centre in Stoke Newington, Britannia Leisure Centre in Hoxton, the training pool at the London Aquatics Centre and the London Fields Lido.

Many of our Masters swap the pool for lakes, lochs, reservoirs, seas or oceans.

Our coaches are approachable, enthusiastic and experienced at supporting a diverse range of abilities, whether you’re training for competition, looking to improve fitness, or focusing on open water distance swims.

Those of our HAC Masters who want to compete are encouraged to do so, and Masters enter a range of competitions from local swimathons and open water swims, to County Championships, Nationals and European Championships.

HAC MASTERS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
We are a diverse and inclusive club with a wide range of abilities but we do only accept competent swimmers so that our coach can safely manage our sessions (we offer coached training sessions, rather than 'learn to swim' sessions).
As a rule of thumb we ask swimmers to be competent in at least three of the four strokes, be able to swim a minimum of 2 - 2.5k per session, be able to swim 6x100m on a turnaround of approx 2 mins 15 secs and to comply with standard lane etiquette. Our coach reserves the right to decide who s/he feels can safely attend our sessions.
